Monoprinting with Wendy Kahle
Thursday 9am-1pm / Friday 9am-1pm
Participants will be working with plexiglass plates and printing ink to create several prints over the two-day course. Using color, line, form and texture, each student will be encouraged to develop a personal imagery, letting the possibilities of the medium be the guide. Students will learn several techniques, that they can then apply freely over the course of the workshop. This class is suitable for all levels, whether looking for a fun creative experience, or building new printmaking skills.
Day 1
Direct trace drawing method
Additive method using inking rollers, brushes, etc.to apply the ink
Subtractive method using cloth, Q-tips, cardboard, etc. to wipe ink away to create an image
Day 2
Stencil and multiple-plate method
Chine Collé –a technique that combines collage and printing
