Collagraphy is a printmaking process in which a variety of textured materials such as papers, plants, and fibers are applied to a rigid surface. These varied textures create unique effects when inked and run through a printmaking press. Collagraphy can be carefully controlled to create specific images or can be used in a free form, abstract method.
In this workshop, participants will make a deeply textured background plate, and then apply organic materials such as leaves, grasses, and flowers. This layered plate will then be inked and run through the printmaking press to create several unique monoprints to take home.
