Printmaking: Dry Point Etching & Intaglio Printing

The soft feathery lines of drypoint etching create expressive images, which can be printed multiple times to make an edition of prints. In this workshop, we use drypoint needles to etch an image into a copper plate. The plate is then inked and cleaned, leaving ink only in the etched crevasses. We use the printmaking press to transfer the image to paper creating a distinctive style of image. This is a special opportunity to learn this classic technique from printmaker, Wendy Kahle. This workshop will be of special interest to artists with drawing experience.
