Monoprinting: Layering with Form and Color
Led by Robin Abrahams
Friday 9:30am-3pm
Monoprinting, the most painterly process of any printmaking medium, gives participants the opportunity to express & experiment. In this fast paced one-day workshop, open to novices and experienced artists, we will develop work with inks and print transfers from acrylic plates run through conventional printing press equipment. With the painterly approach of this medium, prepare to push the boundaries of conventional art-making, as you’ll be encouraged to build up layers of printed ink, much as one might paint on a canvas. The results of the layering of color and form are remarkable — and you’ll produce several finished pieces as your take-away. Buckle up, come ready to experiment and enjoy the elements of surprise (& delight) that are the essence of this printmaking process.
Instructor Robin Abrahams, a local architect & artist, is interested in sharing her love of experimentation and expression.
